Aiming For Perfection?
The world can push us so hard to perfection, and the measuring stick used is different depending on what family member, friend, church leader, spouse, neighbor, our own ideas, co-worker, retailer, or social media outlet is holding it.
But wouldn’t we rather attain God’s version of perfection through the grace and mercy work of Him, than strive on our own to meet the world’s version of perfection? When we look to Him to perfect us in His ways, then He works to bring about the completion of perfection He wants for our life. Upon completion, we will be exactly who He created us to be.
This is called the spiritual journey and it is the transformation of the life of every believer. The spirit, soul and body of each individual must solely embark on this spiritual journey. The path leads through the maze of personal motives, behaviors, attitudes and corresponding actions to liberate the believer from constraints, oppressions and confinements.
The believer’s decision to cooperate and make adjustments or corrections as the path of the journey bends and turns, determines the measure of the outcome. Each believer must follow the path they are being shown, however different from others’ opinions or experiences it may seem. Accepting the invitation requires total commitment.
As the journey begins, counsel and guidance are given according to the individual’s original decision to answer the divine call for their life. Grace and mercy work continually bring about the completion of perfection of the believer. Give me God’s measuring stick any day!
