Feeling Lost
There are times during the Spiritual Journey where there seems to be a sense of being lost. The dictionary defines lost as: “no direction, no purpose; bewildered as to place, direction, etc.; not used to good purpose, as opportunities, time, or labor; wasted.” This sense of being lost can be the flesh feeling itself being emptied of all things familiar, habitual and of doing what it wants. Simultaneously, it can also be the spirit longing to be useful and purposeful in the kingdom, but not having yet arrived. This sense of being lost can be compared to a boat without a rudder or a sail. Not necessarily being tossed about to and fro, but rather, just gently sitting in the slowly drifting water and scarcely moving.
Take this time to quietly reflect, be still, ask for guidance and resist all urges to ‘make something happen’. Remember, confusion, discontentment, restlessness and sadness are all Spiritual Journey symptoms and are temporary and are the result of life-altering spiritual movement. Having faith and total trust in God’s plan in the circumstances for your Spiritual Journey will result in eventually seeing the beacon of the lighthouse providing direction.
