Brushstroke
The purpose of our lives may not be known because it is bigger than us. But it is known by God. He is the Painter of the largest and most beautiful mural, and we are one brush stroke in His Masterpiece. That lone brushstroke does not show what the picture is. The brush stroke that represents the life of the believer is not alone; there are many other brushstrokes orchestrated by God. Each stroke is different in color and texture and intensity. Strokes can be heavy and deep in the picture, or light and just skimming the surface. The apparent connection or reason may not be seen. But there is a connection to each stroke that makes something whole and complete and beautiful. God moves the brush around, knowing exactly how and when and where to place each stroke to form that perfect picture, the result that only He can create in His love. He places brush strokes together for His perfect plan, His perfect picture. God interweaves the strokes in ways the believer may not see or expect.
He is making the believer part of the picture for His glory and purpose. The final picture may not be apparent in the present, but the result will be revealed in His time. It is God’s painting, and every believer should seek to be part of it. Without that one brushstroke, the painting would not be complete; God uses that one brushstroke for His reasons. That alone makes the believer draw close to the Creator, to be an obedient and willing part of His masterpiece. He is the Painter of our lives and it is all about Him. Seek Him and know that He will use that one, single brushstroke of our life for His purpose and glory.
